Who Can Invest in the Global Market with Anand Rathi Gift City?

You can invest in international stocks with Anand Rathi Gift City if you fall into one of these categories: Individual Resident Indians (via LRS Scheme), Non-resident Indians (NRIs) / Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Foreign Investors. (Please Note: NRI/Foreign clients can trade equity and derivatives as permitted in their respective countries on the GA platform.)

How can I transfer my money to invest outside of India?

It is possible to transfer money or invest overseas for investment purposes via the LRS scheme. It allows a threshold of $250,000 to be remitted (sent) abroad every financial year.

How to close my Global trading account?

You can close your Global Trading Account by sending an email request from your registered email ID to contact@indiainxga.com. The closure process takes approximately 2 working days once your request is submitted. Before closing: Clear any negative balance, sell off holdings, withdraw cash balance, download necessary reports, and transfer shares if needed.

Who is the custodian for my global account?

When you invest in international stocks with Anand Rathi GIFT City, your investments are held by regulated custodians approved by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). India INX Global Access has partnered with multiple international brokers to execute and clear trades.

What are the risks and Challenges of investing in the Overseas Market?

Yes, like any investment, global investing has its own set of risks: Market Volatility, Regulatory & Taxation Differences, Currency risk, Geopolitical concerns, etc.

What is the maximum investment limit for an Indian resident in the Global Market?

Every investment within GIFT City made via the Global Access Platform falls under the RBI-LRS scheme limit of $250,000. You cannot exceed the prescribed limit. For example, if you invest USD180,000 in global stocks and spend USD70,000 on international education, your total remittance is USD250,000—fully using your LRS cap.

Do investors need to open a separate Bank account?

Investors can use their existing bank account to remit or receive funds.

When will the funds I deposited be credited to my account?

For wire transactions (or fund transfers), it takes from 1 to 4 business days, depending on the bank.

Do I get access to any research reports?

Yes. Access to research reports, fundamental data, and tools for technical analysis is available in India INX Global Access integrated terminal without any additional cost.

Can I use my margins to buy these shares?

As per RBI guidelines, margin/leverage trading is not permissible for Resident Indians. However, GIFT IFSC entities in India allow Foreign Residents to margin/leverage trading, as permitted in their respective jurisdictions.

In which currencies can one trade?

India INX Global Access offers a single, integrated account that supports 23 different currencies for buying and selling stocks on global exchanges.

Can an Indian corporate open an account with INDIA INXGA?

LRS scheme is unavailable to corporates, partnership firms, HUFs, Trusts, etc. If corporates have approval to hedge underlying on international exchanges from RBI, they can open an account with INDIA INXGA.

Is Intra-Day trading allowed?

For IFSC entities and Non-Resident Indians, Intraday is allowed. For Resident Indian Individual investors, the system will enable them to sell the shares bought in intraday. However, margin will remain blocked till settlement (T+2) because RBI does not permit trading for resident Indian investors under LRS.
